No. Only one MX Ink can be paired and used at the same time.
Yes, MX Ink can be used in either hand. The default setting has MX Ink assigned to the right hand. This can be changed to left hand usage in the Meta Quest Stylus Setting page. If you change to a left hand setting, then the Menu button is also switched to the right hand.
Assuming MX Ink is already paired to your Meta Quest, then you just pick up MX Ink and press a button on it, and MX Ink will become active.
For OSV69, to use MX Ink in the shell you press the FRONT button to interact with the UI. To draw a Roomscale boundary, use the MIDDLE pressure sensitive button.
To switch from MX Ink to using tracked hand interactions, you must open the “Quick settings” UI panel, then click the “Hand Tracking” icon. MX Ink tracking will be stopped, and hand tracking intercations are now enabled. To use the MX Ink again, just press any button on the device, and the MX Ink will be tracked again.
No. Only two devices can be active at the same time, e.g., For a right hand configuration you can use the both of the Meta Touch controllers at the same time, or you can use the MX Ink and the Touch left controller at the same time. You cannot have all three used at the same time.
No. You cannot use the MX Ink stylus together with a Quest Touch Pro controller. MX Ink can be used together with the Touch and Touch Plus controllers only.
Limitations of passthrough video quality and tracking means these won’t be perfectly aligned. Alignment is best in the central field of view area.
MX Ink does not have an OFF switch. After 30+ minutes of inactivity, to conserve power, it will enter a deep sleep mode. To exit this mode, and start using the stylus again, power on the stylus by pressing the Meta button for 2.5 seconds.
No. Only the user can change those parameters in the Stylus Settings page.
Maybe. MX Ink also reports as a legacy Touch controller. As a result of the inputs will work in older apps. Of course, the MX Ink model will not be shown, and some of the app interactions may not work, e.g., MX Ink does not have a thumbstick.
If the MX Ink LED is repeatedly flashing three fast blinks, three slow blinks, then three fast blinks (SOS in morse code), this is an error and the stylus needs to be reset.
